1. Purpose and target audience
This guide explains how to use the CNPF “APR Calculator” web application for APR/APRC calculation and credit offer comparison.
2. Navigation in the application
- Simple calculator – APR calculation and repayment schedule for a standard loan.
- Complex calculator – detailed simulation according to CCD 2008/48/EC and MCD 2014/17/EU directives.
- Credit comparison – compares two offers and generates a comparative chart.
3. Quick steps
- Select the desired mode.
- Fill in the required fields (amounts, periods, interest, fees).
- Press Calculate.
- Review the results and, if needed, open the Repayment schedule.
- Use Reset for a new calculation.
4. Simple calculator (APR)
- Initial data: credit amount (MDL), term (months).
- Interest: periods and interest rates.
- Fees: at disbursement, monthly and yearly.
- Repayment: equal or decreasing monthly payments.
- Results: APR and total amount payable.
5. Complex calculator (APR/APRC)
- CCD/MCD examples: select the directive and example; the form is auto-filled.
- Characteristics: credit type, amount, drawdown, repayment, special payments.
- Costs: interest levels and financed/non-financed costs.
- Results: APR/APRC, total cost, total amount payable.
6. Credit comparison
Fill in both forms, calculate, and compare the results. Differences are highlighted automatically.
7. Sharing and embedding
You can share the page on social networks or copy the embed code (iframe) from the header.
8. Messages and validations
The application highlights missing fields, invalid rates, and the need to recalculate after changes.
9. Limitations and assumptions
- Results are indicative, according to Law no. 202/2013.
- The calculation uses a standard 365-day year.
10. Tips for entering data
- Use a dot for decimals (e.g. 9.5).
- Check the units (months, percentages, MDL).
